IIT Madras Scholarship for Engineering Students
Institute Merit-cum-Means Scholarship
This fellowship is available only for 25% of students whose family income must not exceed INR 4,50,000 p.a.
Amount – INR 1,000 p.m. plus exemption from payment of tuition fees per semester for candidates up to 2007 batch and INR 25,000 per semester from 2008 batch onwards. Candidates must gain minimum GPA 5.0. in the previous semester for renewal.
Institute Free Studentship
It is available only for 10% of candidates whose family income must not exceed INR 4,50,000 p.a.
Amount – Exemption from payment of tuition fees INR 13,500 per semester for candidates up to 2007 batch and INR 25,000 per semester from 2008 batch onwards. Candidates must gain minimum GPA 5.0. in previous semester for renewal.
Institute Notional Prize
It is provided on the basis of candidates’ rank in JEE Advanced. Only 7% candidates whose parents’ annual income is less than INR 4,50,000 can avail it.
Amount – A national prize of INR 1000 (One-time award) and a certificate of merit.
Institute SC/ST Scholarship
As the name states, it is only awarded to SC/ST aspirants. To take advantage of this fellowship, aspirant’s family income must not exceed INR 4,50,000 p.a. Also, the candidates must have obtained minimum GPA 5.0. in previous semester for its renewal.
Amount – Mess allowance with pocket allowance of INR 250 p.m. and exemption of hostel seat rent. (Tuition fee is exempted for all SC/ST aspirants).
Girish Ready Scholarship
It is for B.tech aspirants whose rank in IIT JEE was highest and they match the criteria of parents’ annual income should be below INR 5,00,000.
One more fellowship is provided to the candidate whose previous school years’ performances were best among all and whose parents’ annual income is less than INR 5,00,000.
Amount – INR 25,000 per year and the renewal of fellowship in the subsequent years is subject to a minimum GPA of 8.0 in the previous semester.

Aspirants belonging to Minority communities such as Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Parsis & Jains and whose parental income not exceeding INR 2.5 lakhs per annum are eligible for it. The State Government will sanction the fellowship amount and its 30% part reserved for girl aspirants.

Merit-cum-Means Scholarships
It is provided on the basis of JEE Advanced AIR. In subsequent years, the corresponding criterion will be students’ academic performances during the preceding academic year. Candidate’s family income must not exceed INR 4,50,000.
Amount – Scholarship for BTech students is awarded INR 1000 per month with benefit of free tuition fee per semester to a maximum of 25% of sanctioned candidates throughout the degree.
Facilities of Free Messing
SC/ST students whose family income is not exceeded to INR 4,50,000 p.a. are eligible for it.

Named Scholarships
The Dean Alumni & Corporate Relations Office manages the named fellowship endowed by the alumni of the Institute and other well-wishers.
This fellowship is provided for new entrants of B.Tech based on their JEE Advanced AIR. In subsequent years, the corresponding criterion will be, their academic performance, i.e., Cumulative Performance Index (CPI), during the preceding academic year. IIT Delhi Scholarship for Engineering Students

This fellowship is permissible to about 25% of students based on their ranks in IIT JEE Exam and family income (below INR 4,50,000).
Amount – This is awarded Rs.1000 per month with the benefit of free tuition fee per semester.
IIT Kanpur Scholarship for Engineering Students
Merit-cum-means scholarships
This fellowship is given by alumni of IIT Kanpur and student’s family income must not exceed INR 4,50,000.
Amount – Most of the scholarships are at the rate of INR 2000 pm for a duration of 10 months. Few scholarships are of 3 years duration Normally, based on merit (minimum CPI should be 8.5).

National Prizes for UG and PG Students
Every year, top 7% students of each batch are given national prizes include a certificate and cash prize of INR 400.
For the final year UGs, and MTech students the top 7% are chosen from each departmentese are merit based prizes and therefore the recipients must have a minimum CPI of 8.5.
Sports Scholarships and Prizes
This fellowship is provided for 20 students each year for their performance in the sports.

1. Kandoi-Dairkee-Gaurav KDG Scholarship
This fellowship is instituted by three alumni of the Pioneer Batch (B.Tech. graduates of 2012) at IIT Gandhinagar :- Mr. Abhishek Kandoi, Mr. Maisum Ali Dairkee and Mr. Anchit Gaurav.
The 2nd & 3rd year students are awarded with it who participate in non-academic programs of institute as well as academic activities and show their trajectory towards all rounded growth.
Students with minimum CPI of 6.0 and their family income are not more than INR 8,00,000 p.a. are eligible.
Amount – The amount is INR 5,000 per month for ten months.
2. Mahabir Prasad Sultania Scholarship & Durga Devi Sultania Scholarship
These fellowships have been instituted by Mr. Deepak Sultania for awarding MCM scholarships to undergraduate students every year.

Niteen P. Sant Fellowship was instituted by Mr. Gaurav N Sant in the year 2014.

4. Amalthea Scholarship
It was started in the year 2016, provided to graduate student who was starting in 2016-17. The number of scholars must be increase by one every year till it reaches four fellowships every year.

Sri Temasek@IIT Gandhinagar Scholarship was instituted by a well-wisher from Singapore in the year 2016. The objective of this fellowship was to award an MCM scholarship to undergraduate students every year (open for second, third and fourth year students).

8. Satyaram Scholarships
It was instituted by the former Indian Cricketer and philanthropist V. V. S. Laxman in the year 2016.

9. Prof. M H Divekar Scholarship
This fellowship was started by Mrs. Mugdha Mukund Divekar in the year 2014 and is open for the third year’s undergraduate students of Chemical Engineering.
Student who will be secured the highest grade in Chemical Engineering course at the end of third year, eligible for the scholarship.
Amount – The recipient of Scholarship will be awarded INR 2,000 per month for ten months.
10. S.C. Mehrotra’s Scholarship
This scholarship was instituted in the year 2010 and is open to the second year UG students of Civil Engineering. It continues through-out the six semesters of the course (from 3rd semester to 8th Semester of UG Program).

11. Chandrakant and Patricia Desai Scholarship
The Chandrakant and Patricia Desai Scholarship was started in the year 2017 and this scholarships for 2nd year engineering students of Civil Branch only.
This Merit-cum-Means scholarship is awarded every year to one student. The student with minimum CPI of 6.5 and whose family income is not more than INR 8,00,000 p.a., is eligible.

12. Prof. KV Venkatesha Murthy Scholarship
This scholarship was started in the year 2017 and is open to all UG students of Electrical Engineering. This Merit-cum-Means scholarship is awarded every year to one student.

This scholarship was instituted by Mr. Mohinder L. Nayyar in the year 2017 and is open to all fourth year UG students of IIT Gandhinagar. This MCM Scholarship is awarded every year to student who has demonstrated exemplary oral & written communication and presentation skills during the first three years of stay.

18. Tuition Fee Waiver for Undergraduate Students Admitted in and after 2016
The new financial assistance scheme was instituted for the undergraduate students who joined the institute in 2016 or thereafter –
The SC/ST/PH students shall get complete fee waiver
The most economically backward students (whose family income is less than INR 1,00,000 p.a.) shall get full remission of the fee.
The other economically backward students (whose family income is between INR 1,00,000 to INR 5,00,000 p.a.) shall get remission of 2/3rd of the tuition fee.
Students whose annual family income is less than INR 9,00,000 shall have access to interest-free loan under the Vidyalaxmi scheme for the total portion of the tuition fee payable.
19. TATA Motors Financial Aid Program (TMFAP)
he TMFAP was introduced in the year 2016 at IITGN for all the undergraduate students. The main objective of this fellowship is to provide financial assistance to students from an economically weaker background.

IIT Guwahati Scholarship for Engineering Students
Institute Merit Scholarship (IMS)
IMS is provided for class wise topper of B.Tech./B.Des./M.Sc./M.A. of Institutes and is awarded from 2nd year.
The student has to complete each semester without any break to get scholarship throughout the complete course.
The student should have cleared all the courses of the concerned semesters in the first available chance.
The student should have secured the highest yearly performance index (YPI) in the semesters taken for reckoning.
The student should not have been awarded any major disciplinary action imposed by the institute disciplinary committee (IDC).
Amount – Student will be awarded with a fixed stipend per month for two semesters (August-November & January-April totaling 8 months) of INR 500 per month.
2. Institute Merit-cum-Means (MCM) Scholarship
MCM scholarship is awarded to non SC/ST students in B.Tech./B.Des/M.Sc/MA of the institute strictly on merit-cum-means basis.
Student’s family annual income must not exceed INR 4,50,000.
Students are not considered for MCM scholarships if they have passed their +2 examinations from schools with annual tuition fee of more than INR 30,000 p.a.
All students of 1st year are eligible for the scholarship. However minimum CPI 6.0 is mandatory for 2nd, 3rd and 4th year undergraduate students.
Amount – Student will be awarded with a fixed stipend per month for two semesters (August-November & January-April total 8 months) of INR 1000 per month.
3. SC-ST Scholarships
SC-ST Scholarship is awarded to SC-ST students on means basis. Student’s who’re going to avail this scholarship, their family annual income must not exceed INR 4,50,000.
Students are not considered for scholarships if they have passed their +2 examinations from schools with annual tuition fee of more than INR 30,000 p.a.
All B.Tech students are eligible to apply.
Amount –
Student will be awarded with a fixed stipend per month for two semesters (August-November & January-April total 8 months) of INR 250 per month.
Free messing (only for the basic menu)
Exemption from hostel room rent
Tuition fees are waived for all SC/ST students by the statues irrespective of availing SC-ST fellowship or not.
4. Indian Women’s Association, Bonn (IWAB) Scholarship
IWAB scholarship is for undergraduate girl students on an endowment from the Indian Women’s Association, Bonn. Student with minimum SPI 7.0 in 1st semester eligible for the scholarship.
Based on the consideration of both merit and means the Scholarship Committee is made final recommendation. A recipient of MCM Scholarship during the same academic period may not be awarded IWAB scholarship.
Amount – Student will be awarded INR 15,000 for one time.
IIT Mandi Scholarship for Engineering Students
1. Merit-cum-Means (MCM) Scholarship for Engineering Students General Category & OBC Category
MCM Scholarship is provided for a maximum of 25% of the enrolled General & OBC students in the UG program whose parental annual income must not exceed INR 4,50,000.
Students CGPA must not less than 6.0.
Earned credits should not be less than the 18 times the number of semesters registered for. This scholarship is not applicable for 1st year students.
Students must obtain minimum 6.0 SGPA in the previous semester.
Candidate should not have been penalized due to unfair means/indiscipline.
Amount – Student will be awarded INR 1000 p.m. and would be exempted from paying the tuition fee.
2. Scholarship for SC/ST Students
This fellowship admissible to SC/ST students whose parental annual income must not exceed the limit prescribed by the Government. At present, this limit is INR 4,50,000 /- p.a.
Amount – Students will be awarded with 1000 /- p.m. or free messing and 250 /- p.m. for pocket allowance.
3. Central Sector Scholarship for SC Students
It is provided for 1st & 2nd year students whose parental annual income must not exceed 4,50,000 p.a. Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment Govt of India offer this scholarship.
Amount – It covers full tuition fee and non-refundable charges, living expenses INR 2220 p.m. per student, books and stationery INR 3000 p.a. per student, a latest computer with accessories limited to INR 45,000 per students as one-time assistance during the course.
IIT Hyderabad Scholarship for Engineering Students
1. Merit-cum-Means (MCM) Scholarship
MCM Scholarship is provided for a maximum of 25% of the enrolled General & OBC students in the UG program. Parental income must not exceed INR 5,00,000 p.a. for Gen students and INR 6,00,000 p.a. for OBC students. Students must obtain minimum 6.0 CGPA.
Amount – The other economically backward students (whose family income is between INR 1 lac to INR 5 lacs p.a.) who avail 2/3rd remission of the tuition fee will be eligible for 1/3rd reimbursement of tuition fee per semester + pocket money of INR 1000/- per month.
2. Scholarship for SC/ST Students
All SC/ST students whose parental annual income are not less than INR 4,50,000 are eligible for the fellowship. Students must obtain minimum CGPA 6.0.
Amount – Free messing and boarding (to the extent collected), pocket allowance of INR 250 p.m. being given.
3. Free Studentship Scholarship
Total 10% of the students are proposed for the grant of Free Studentship whose parental annual income must not exceed INR 5,00,000 for Gen Students and INR 6,00,000 for OBC Students. Candidates must obtain minimum CGPA 6.0.
The other economically backward students (whose family income are between INR 1,00,000 to INR 5,00,000 per annum) who avail 2/3rd remission of the tuition fee will be eligible for 1/3rd reimbursement of tuition fee per semester.
IIT Bhilai Scholarship for Engineering Students
1. Merit-cum-Means (MCM) Scholarship
MCM Scholarship is provided for a maximum of 25% of the enrolled General & OBC students in the UG program. Parental income not to exceed INR 5 Lacs for Gen students and INR 6 Lacs for OBC students. Students must obtain minimum 6.0 CGPA.
Amount – The other economically backward students (whose family income are between INR 1,00,000 to INR 5,00,000 per annum) who avail 2/3rd remission of the tuition fee will be eligible for 1/3rd reimbursement of tuition fee per semester + pocket money of INR 1000 p.m.
